This art narrative series began as a form of art therapy after great personal loss. It grew out of a daily drawing routine that allowed the imagery to develop in-the-moment, and through stream of consciousness. Very early within the series, words or titles were not used to describe the imagery, because the artist was allowing ideas to develop and come into focus.
The term "frame" became a loose word structure to connect the images directly to each other. The "frames" appear to relate to one another, yet at other moments within the series they are disconnected with different themes or meanings. The fluid connective meaning between the "frames" relates to the artist's personal mission to describe deeper feelings, complex emotions, existential thoughts, lucid dreams.
The series title "What's the Porpoise" is meant to be a punny way to understand death, loss, life and journey along on quest to answer some of life's unanswerable questions.
